Steve Bannon will 'tell all' to Robert Mueller: report
Betsy Woodruff, political reporter for The Daily Beast, talks with Rachel Maddow about breaking news that Steve Bannon will speak freely to special counsel Robert Mueller because the executive privilege that prevented him from speaking to House Intel does not apply to a Mueller grand jury.

(12,904 posts)Are you suggesting that someone might have transposed some numbers?
I think that explanation makes sense. Hmmm.
I have this idea that the doctor played along about Trump's "excellent" health report to keep him from going all whacky about something that doesn't really matter that much. At least it doesn't matter that much, compared to the rest of the daily shit show that is the Trump presidency. And the, I guess, President does tend to retaliate at those that he feels have wronged him in some way.

(111,080 posts)Will the White House try to stop Bannon from speaking to the Special Counsel?
Would that not then be "obstruction of justice"? It seems to me that it would.
The Executive Branch has the Justice Department under it. But the Special Counsel was hired by Rosenstein and cannot be fired directly by the White House.
What happens then if they attempt to stop Bannon from giving testimony to a grand jury? Would that not be contempt?
This may be a giant step forward in this investigation? It's getting close to the White House.
Someone spread the word: No one is above the law.

(7,627 posts)Bannon is evil but unlike most of the Trump crew he is far from stupid. He knows that lying to Mueller would guarantee ending up in jail. His best course of action is to unload all he as on Trump and hope Mueller takes that into account...

He'd probably rather gum up Mueller's work with lies to make them look silly, than to be honest.
Honesty and Bannon are not friends.

(10,123 posts)letting Bannon go was they did not think he could add much to to Russia collusion concern because he arrived later in the game. From the 'treasonous' remark, he probably kept his distance.
To have gathered all that Mueller's team has and then be handed the Fire & Fury Wolff book on top of Trump severing their relationship and Bannon losing his job at Brietbart and financial backing from Mercer, Mueller couldn't ask for much more in terms of ideal circumstances to question Bannon.

(14,853 posts)I recently finished reading Wolff's Fire and Fury, and some of the comments attributed to Bannon lead me to think he might destroy "Bannonstein's Monster", partly from disappointment.
