The 9th Circuit Court had temporarily stopped Trump from immediately doing away with DACA and deporting the dreamers.
Trump has now asked the Supreme Court to override that decision. If they overturn the 9th court decision, Trump can immediately start throwing out each and every dreamer.
Think what a miserable person one would have to be to want to do this. America is the only country the dreamers have ever known. And Trump wants to deport them to a country they don't know and may not speak the language.
Dreamers are all but Americans who lack a piece of paper that says they're Americans. I guess Trump's big problem with many dreamers is their color.

(35,296 posts)The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
It was a single judge that required application processing. The court of appeals hasn't ruled. It's being sort-of bypassed, but it's in charge until SCOTUS says otherwise.
I find the first paragraph of this article to be potentially confusing. By omitting mention of the court of appeals, it makes it sound like the court of appeals reached a ruling.

(19,023 posts)Just as American as you or I. The US is the only country they've ever known, and may have no contacts in Mexico. Imagine being picked up walking down the street and ejected from America into a country where you don't know a soul. Some Dreamers don't even speak Spanish.
