(81,433 posts)No Vacancies for Blacks: How Donald Trump Got His Start, and Was First Accused of Bias
By JONATHAN MAHLER and STEVE EDER | AUG. 27, 2016
She seemed like the model tenant. A 33-year-old nurse who was living at the Y.W.C.A. in Harlem, she had come to rent a one-bedroom at the still-unfinished Wilshire Apartments in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens. She filled out what the rental agent remembers as a beautiful application. She did not even want to look at the unit.
There was just one hitch: Maxine Brown was black.
Stanley Leibowitz, the rental agent, talked to his boss, Fred C. Trump.
I asked him what to do and he says, Take the application and put it in a drawer and leave it there, Mr. Leibowitz, now 88, recalled in an interview.

(52,188 posts)similar to the expert/dunning-kruger effect, the more you know about a topic, the more you know there is that you don't know. genuine experts are aware of how many unanswered questions there are out there; the ignorant may think they know it all because they don't even know all the questions that they have no clue as to how to answer.
as for racism, it's simply impossible to exist in a culture filled with racist myths and not have some of that etched on to your brain. the best you can do is be aware of it and try to counter it and hope you screw up as little as possible and keep your ears and mind open at all times.
"least racist"? how would you even measure such a thing? leaving aside the demonstrated fact that donnie is horrendously racist, the very concept of a "least racist" person doesn't exist.
and if there was, i would venture to say that the "least racist" person is extremely unlikely to be white....

(64,990 posts)It's a proven fact that had "it" simply invested the inheritance in broad based index funds, "it" could have lived off an average of 10 million a year after taxes, and still have 2x what was claimed. (And no, i don't believe that either.)
So, by any reckoning, this "only sees green" thing has actually resulted in a squandering of around $8 billion.
Must be red-green color blind.
