How do I do this on DU?

My company announced that it was giving bonuses in response to the tax bill. "We're showing that the pundits were wrong." We're going to give my bonus to charity.

I'd like to challenge DUers to do the same and to publish their pledge in a thread that would continue to show up. Not conversation, just pledges to donate "tax bill bonuses."

Is there a way to set this up?

TIA

1. Hopefully, you work for a privately owned company. But be careful, none the less.

If you're publically owned, the "bonuses" will typically be followed by pink slips. Publically owned businesses have a responsibility to the shareholders - by law, all revenue proceeds must be distributed in a way agreed upon well in advance by the shareholders - if excess revenue doesn't go into dividends, all hell breaks loose. Any bonuses need to be approved well in advance of the distribution, along with personnel changes.

Heck, even if you're privately owned, bonuses are typically followed by pink slips.

A company doesn't give out bonuses unless there's an actual financial reason to do so, like a windfall profit they need to get off the books, or because a task has finished and they're giving everyone a share of the final profits before they re-organize - or re-tool - for the next project and have to lay off those who aren't going to participate in that project.

I know one mid-sized company - one of our suppliers - that back in 2003 gave all their manufacturing workforce a surprise bonus after they ran the figures on how much it would cost to automate most of those positions, and put in the purchase order for the robots, the servers, and the software to do so.
Over 500 workers - most at the high school education level that had been working there for years - were let go three months after that average of $5K bonus was handed out on the floor.
