Its All on You, Republicans
We’ve now all seen the photos of Jorge Garcia tearfully saying goodbye to his family, having been deported after thirty years of living in America. We can only imagine the heartbreak, the fear, the grief he, his wife, and his children are going through.
That’s on you, Republicans. Every tear shed, every fear experienced, every moment of inescapable emotional agony – it’s all on you.
We know that Dreamers are now living with incredible anxiety, wondering from day to day if they will be banished from the only country they’ve ever known, and deported to a country they’ve never known.
That’s on you, Republicans. Every sleepless night, every anxiety-ridden day these people experience – it’s all on you.
We know that thanks to your “tax reform”, millions of Americans are without affordable healthcare, and live in a constant state of panic that a medical condition could turn into a death sentence for themselves or a loved one.
That’s on you, Republicans. Every parent who has to live with watching a child sicken and die for lack of money – it’s all on you.
We know that millions of Americans who rely on Medicaid, their social security payments, and the safety nets that allow them to survive from day to day are now terrified that those programs will be financially gutted in order to reduce the debt that you created by cutting taxes for wealthy individuals and multi-billion dollar corporations.
That’s on you, Republicans. Every second that any citizen is forced to live in fear of having to go without life-saving medication, food and/or shelter – it’s all on you.
You not only elected an incompetent moron to govern a nation, you have continued to support him, defend him, and enable him. Instead of standing up for your fellow citizens, you have stood up to cheer for the man who has brought fear, anxiety, and untold misery into the lives of the very people you swore to serve.
It’s ALL on you. And the bottom line is that you don’t even have the miniscule shred of human decency it takes to be ashamed of what you’ve done.
As things now stand, the Republican party is the greatest threat our democracy has ever faced. While the citizenry wonders if their "pResident" is acting on behalf of our foreign enemies, they are also wondering if your party is the domestic enemy determined to destroy us from within - and at this point, you're not leaving any room for doubt.
