if the infamously loyal and unified republicans had their act together, they wouldn't need democrats

if only these incompetent republicans could agree, they could keep things going without the help of a single democrat.

all they need to do is pass a budget resolution (simple majority only is required in each chamber). then pass an onmibus spending bill under reconciliation rules (again requiring only a simple majority in each chamber).

they can't blame it on democrats because they have the power to completely bypass us.

the reason the don't want to do it this way is because passing a budget resolution would require them to admit just how much they've increased the deficit *and to then vote to endorse it*. then follow it up with a huge spending bill that spends way more than we're taking in.

in other words, they're too irresponsible and cowardly to govern properly and to own it, so they're trying to spin it so they can somehow blame democrats for their own mess.

it's all complete crap.

they own the mop.
they own the broom.
they own the cleaning fluids.
they own the garbage pail.

they own the mess.

well, we could mount political pressure, jam their phone lines and whatnot to try to keep them from being completely unified. but legislatively, other than flipping some votes, we couldn't do much beyond a few delaying tactics. no lasting filibuster.
