Public is going to like Democrats standing firm

...even if we shut down.

Both of the issues we're holding out for, children's health and protecting children of immigrants from deportation, enjoy broad and wide support from the public. Folks are likely looking at Democrats standing up for these children, against Trump and the republicans, and saying 'about time they threw down.'

and the Repubs delayed CHIP funding just so they could use it for maximum political leverage when it should have been extended months ago. They have continually blocked the bipartisan DACA immigration deal to play politics

6 years of CHIP. I hope this wasn't the wrong time to take a stand. Kids lives are at stake and the GOP doesn't care if they die.

11. They extended it. It expired last night. Some states can foot the bill, but others can't.

I fear for that family suddenly hit with a large bill for cancer treatment and have to decide if they can afford to give their child a chance at life. I don't know what the hell is wrong with Republicans. They're the most evil of evil people. I'm glad I didn't have to make the decision about voting or not voting for this.

...and rooted in privilege, most of that at taxpayer expense.

These are just bad people who are determined to keep every penny they stole, and are determined to keep us yoked to producing even more income for their sweet selves.

Republicans could have passed a standalone bill at anytime. CBO says 10 yr bill will save $6billion. When would we expect them to get on with it?

...and they made unnecessary cuts to Medicaid and Obamacare funding as an offset. CBO however, came out and said those were unnecessary if they extended the program's authorization for 10 yrs. Republicans in the House gave it 6yrs, and Democrats are still holding out for 10 without any phony offsets.
