...don't like that privacy get in the way of tying him to the over all narrative that he could give a damn about the working American.

Every time I would get a chance I'd tie him hiding the tax returns to that over arching issues....

The speculation would be with a point or two in indy polls IMHO

Endless speculation is not got to be Romney's friend. That is why Republicans are telling Romney to release his tax returns. They know we can be just as creative as we want to be. MSM might not pick up the speculation. Maybe some liberal pundits will who are just preaching to the choir anyway. What really scares them isn't MSM talking about it. It is everyone talking to their neighbors, friends, family about it. This could be one of the larges word of mouth campaigns against a candidate in US history. And we have the power to make it so.

Make the Dem's look like the whiners. In this climate, it's going to work. IMO

I'm still hoping he did something illegal, and will be in jail.

He's been seriously damaged in many polls and he's been marked as a secretive rich guy with something to hide. The Obama campaign knows you don't win the election in July but you can plant the seeds. The tax issue will be a recurring issue through the campaign and Romney isn't going to be able to make a big case for upper class tax cuts with this hanging over his head.

He's already run away from his only real political job, now his business/financial accomplishments are at the least tarnished in the minds of many. He can't turn to religion (his brand isn't popular with the GOP base) and he's basically left with "I'm not Obama!"

I also believe the Obama campaign has a roll-out of various attacks against Romney scheduled. Romney certainly flunked the first test. I hope the others go as well.

And the Obama campaign is still hitting him on this issue as well as his offshore accounts and Bain outsourcing. It may not be covered as much in the media, but it's going strong in swing states. And just wait 'til the debates!
