Florida state Rep. Peter Nehr (R) apparently likes to take pictures of himself in bathrooms, according to photos leaked to the Tampa Bay Times.

Wanna see a Fla legislator in his skivvies?
No, nor did we. Unfortunately someone sent us these shots of Rep. Peter Nehr, R-Tarpon Springs, who seems to like to photograph himself in bathrooms.

(5,756 posts)Then he wouldn't have to take those pics in the mirror. Then they could just take turns taking pictures of each other and staking out stalls for other messed up men.

(53,661 posts)Malignant narcissism is a theoretical or 'experimental' diagnostic category; although narcissistic personality disorder is found in the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR), malignant narcissism is not. Individuals with malignant narcissism would be diagnosed under narcissistic personality disorder. Malignant narcissism can be partially treated with medications and therapy, helping to reduce aggravating symptoms. As a syndrome, it may include aspects of schizoid and narcissistic personality disorder, as well as paranoia recent[when?] "contributions have confirmed the importance of malignant narcissism and the defense of projection" in the latter syndrome, as well as "the patient's vulnerability to malignant narcissistic regression".[2]
Malignant narcissism can be comorbid with other psychological disorders not mentioned above.

Does this remind us of anyone?
Romney holding down a boy and wacking his hair off?
Tea baggers abusing the man with Parkinson's Disease?
Tea baggers going to provoke victims of the Giffords shooting?
The crowd at the GOP debate cheering executions, people dying for lack of insurance, booing a man who asked if his same sex rights would be respected and getting booed?
Rush saying Abu Graib was like a fraternity prank?
Rush calling for liberals to be hunted to extinction?
The examples are too numerous. Actually, this guy is just the window dressing for their behavior. They have wife beaters, child molesters, people who have committed rapes and other violent crimes in their playbook. Nice going, GOP.

(135,060 posts)Nehr said he sent the pictures to many friends because he was proud to have dropped his weight from 210 to 160 and got control of his diabetes. "I had no idea anyone would use them against me," Nehr said.

(135,060 posts)When confronted about the circulation of these "selfies" (what the kids call taking pictures of yourself with your cell phone), and asked if these were taken for use on a dating website, Nehr told our reporter Noah Pransky that he has "used online dating sites since he got divorced, but didn't remember posting any of the shirtless pictures on there." And then he released the following statement.
To all those interested in my pictures that were posted on the blogs:
I have been a diabetic for many years and like many diabetics have had problems with my weight and my blood sugar control.
The attached pictures are all originals with no photo shopping which include a before picture and after picture of my face and also a before and after picture of my body.
I went from 210 pounds to 160 pounds and from a 38 inch waistline to a 30 inch waistline. I also went from taking over a 110 units of insulin per day taking 5 shots to almost no daily insulin shots. My blood sugar went from highs of over 300 to currently from 100 to 140. This was done by proper and moderate exercise and being very careful regarding not only what I eat, but how much I eat.

(12,153 posts)I see nothing at all wrong with the pictures. In fact, I think it's great that he, a diabetic, has lost weight and improved his health, and that he's hoping the pictures will be an inspiration to others with diabetes.

(10,266 posts)I (the same as some above) thought there was going to be something weird in the works with another GOP legislator, so I followed the links...and THEN I READ THE ACTUAL ARTICLE.
Is getting the visual results of his hard work and dedication "out there" for the Public to see, something that could have been handled in a slightly LESS Craigslist-weird-guy kinda way? Sure. But, THIS isn't the thing I'm going to bitch about when it comes to a Republican Legislator, especially given the context and message he's trying to send, and the audience he's trying to reach. The aggregate response from OUR side on this particular issue, SHOULD BE:
"Yep. He looks great, and good for him for getting control of his health situation. It's a damn-site easier to do when tax-payer funded medical insurance is providing you with the best care money can buy. RIGHT, Congressman?"
Exactly!
I hadn't thought of that!
