My name is there (although probably illegible due to my inebriated state when signing)!

What happens in Haines stays in Haines!

Haines (Tlingit: Deishú) is a census-designated place located in Haines Borough, Alaska, United States. It is in the northern part of the Alaska Panhandle, near Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.

As of the 2010 census, the population of the Haines CDP was 1,713,[2] out of a total 2,508 in Haines Borough.

The area around present-day Haines was called Dtehshuh or "end of the trail" by the Chilkat group of Tlingit. It received this name because they could portage (carry) their canoes from the trail they used to trade with the interior, which began at the outlet of the Chilkat River, to Dtehshuh and save 20 miles (32 km) of rowing around the Chilkat Peninsula.

Pretty neat little town with some cool photo ops in town, as I recall. My husband visited a museum there devoted to hammers. He said they had some of the most unusual hammers he had ever seen. Quite a collection if you are into that sort of thing. Meanwhile, I went on a Photo Safari where we learned how to spot and photograph eagles. 🦅
