And people wonder why most people hate the Patriots and are fed up with the NFL.

(17,277 posts)Stand alone the calls could be argued either way (though they are suspicious). However there is no doubt about the celebrating. The refs should be demoted for such partisan behavior. It calls into question their earlier calls.

(182,763 posts)As far as the one at the end - the head Ref and the QB's have a relationship that builds during the game. I'd bet he congratulated Bortles too.
The interference call in the first half was clearly interference. As far as the non-calls yeah yeah yeah.

(2,336 posts)There is a video where a ref is smiling, wow! You know they happen to smile a lot, right? Every game you see players and refs talking on the field, and sometimes even jokes are told!
The first link below is two refs obviously conspiring with Jim Harbaugh...

(16,104 posts)Pass interference is pass interference. Period.
And the Jack call? Seriously? If Lewis had held the ball, he was down. Play over. Suggesting Jack, on the ground next to Lewis, could get up and run is ridiculous.
There isn't a play in the NFL where something couldn't be called.
And referees interacting with the players, or acknowledging perhaps the greatest quarterback of all time?
mythology
(9,527 posts)Why were so many more penalties called on Jacksonville?
Also given Brady and two of his coaches have been caught cheating, calling him the greatest is a bad joke.
rufus dog
(8,419 posts)The left DE for the Jags was getting held throughout the game, multiple times. It was obvious on outside pass rushes, two isolated players. Could holding be called all the time, yes, was it ever called on the Pats, NO.
I found it somewhat suspicious that a key Mercedes Lewis play was not shown on replay. From the wide angle it looks like we was spun/grabbed while the pass was in the air, a penalty. No tight replay was ever shown.

If you have something concrete about current cheating, then perhaps you should share it.

(64,995 posts). . .underinflated footballs in your cheating paradigm. If so, you need to read up on the ideal gas law and do the math.
On Edit: I'm a fan of the Chicago Bears

(16,672 posts)That was the first and most blatant.
But then the best cheating quarterback of all time would have had an incomplete pass on his stats.

That's why they call it pass interference!

(20,830 posts)Much like the Yankees, the Pats now have a huge following. Thus, I think it's real danger is what comes after Tom Brady and the Pats? When the 40s-mid 60s Yankees finally faded, baseball went from Number 1 sport in America in the 40s to a distant second to the NFL by the 60s. Rating are down ten percent in 5 years. You have to wonder if those 10 percent are coming back and how many more it will lose in the near future. I really don't know. My NFL team hasn't been good in 25 years. That's a long time to fake caring. Eventually I gave out and stopped watching much more than my team if it plays the early game. My NFL team is typically out come mid-year. I'm in NBA mode now. I'm guess more and more, fans are moving on from an NFL that simply has little to offer most fan bases.

(2,336 posts)15 years ago, DU would have roasted the guy alive for donating to Santorum! You would have been asking why anyone could possibly be a fan of a team owned by such a person.
To be clear, I am not a fan of Robert Kraft. I am a fan of his team and Brady. I am happy that Brady doesn't talk up Trump and said he didn't endorse him for President. Just because Brady might still be friends with Trump (an unknown, at this point) doesn't mean he supports his policies. It's not like Brady is out there campaigning for the guy.
RhodeIslandOne
(5,042 posts)I doubt he thinks any deeper than the snap count and maybe whatever wacko woo science his quack trainer feeds him. The problems of the world dont taint his privileged mind and hes the type of dumbass whod be enamored by a rich asshole like Trump whos been Americas jocksniffer for 35 years and never think of the damage hes doing.
Your head coach is another story. Not shocked hes a right wing dirtbag.
ExciteBike66
(2,336 posts)they seem to be few and far between. Anyway, if Brady is truly an idiot then he is less morally bankrupt for being a trump supporter (and anyway we really don't know his level of support at this point).
Am I supposed to throw away my team (born and raised in NE) just because our QB ain't the brightest bulb?
As to Belichick, I am more ambivalent. We have long known that he is a Sith Master. I am just glad that the Pats are able to use his brain to win Superbowls. Once he retires I plan on having no further use for him...

(5,042 posts)But Im not optimistic because of this.
Philly fans are passionate and the Iggles are their first love. They werent openly saying their team should move to St Louis 20 years ago because no one in the region paid attention to them and hadnt won a thing.

(65,173 posts)I thought they could win last night, but I never expected a 38-7 demolishing. This team seems to have a special chemistry, and Foles is playing like Super Nick right now instead of Bad Foles. Let's hope the refs are fair to both teams. I am prepared that we might have to overcome a call or two.

(5,042 posts)I thought Philly was the better team most of the year until the Wentz injury. I felt the game would be close but being at home would give the Eagles the edge.
