that the GOP has used since the 1990s to limit the power of the minority party to bring bills up for a vote on the floor of the House. It means that the Speaker will not allow a floor vote on a bill unless a majority of the majority party supports the bill. However, it's not a formal rule and the Speaker doesn't have to follow it. The fact that Hastert later turned out to be a pedophile is irrelevant.

Not sure what Democrats can do to challenge other than to win back the House and keep holding it, but it seems like a wrong/anti-Democratic way to run the House.

There are enough BIPARTISAN votes in both houses to pass a clean DACA vote. Those votes have been there since day one.

The Pedophile "Rule" is nothing more than a gimmick so that Repugs don't have to vote on the record for the things they know would make them look bad to their constituents.

Multiple polls show that DACA is continuously supported by more than 80% of American citizens.

I shudder every time Repugs and commentators honor Denny Hastert by using his name in conjunction with the Congress of the United States. Shameful.
