The Velveteen Ocelot

I am watching Sarah Slanders' press briefing with the sound off

because I can't stand hearing her weapons-grade lies delivered in that nasal, preachy monotone - so I don't know what she's saying. Someone else can report on that if they can stand to listen. However, the body language is interesting. The press people seem agitated (one of them has one of those WTF? looks on her face), and Sarah looks angry (but then, she usually does) and her halibut eyes seem more misaligned than usual. And who dresses her? The Duggars?

working with our enemy, i have no interest in looking at them or listening to them other than their final statement to the court when convicted of their crimes, that I will tune into.

High Lies

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of truth,
And cast my lies from crimson-lipsticked lips;
Onward I've lied, and weaved a rambling myth
Of grateful crowds ...and claimed a hundred things
You have not swallowed...weaved, demurred and spun
Fading into sullen silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting media along, and flung
My eager crap through endless streams of wind.
Up, up, the false, delirious flaming lies
I've topped the biggest ones with easy grace
When neither Rove, nor even Cheney could.
And while with soiled, uplifted heels I've trod
The pure untrespassed sanctity of truth...
...put out my hand, and poked the eye of God.

If she was struck by lightning and turned into a smoking piece of pork rind, I'd have to start going to church.

I wasn't going to say anything about her outfit, but...

Honestly, I think she looks much better without the shite-ton of makeup (though I feel that way about most people who wear a shite-ton of makeup).

God, if she could at least TRY to dress a little less like a Christian missionary it would be an improvement. She's frightening the children.

I literally laughed loudly enough, co workers asked what I was laughing at.

I'm pretty sure she has an inside to the local mercantile store in Colorado City (Polygamist community made famous by Warren Jeffs), for all of her apparel needs.

It's interesting that people here can't stand her father. But I saw a YouTube video of his show when he interviewed Meryl Streep about her role in "Iron Lady" and he was very admiring of Streep and carried on a very upbeat discussion about Margaret Thatcher. It was a very nice interview. He carried on by asking Streep's preparation for the role. He and she talked about how women in Britain were discriminated against. Streep added that Thatcher was also discriminated against because her father was a shopkeeper.

I was surprised that Huckabee was so nice and interested in the facets of the actresses' portrayal.
