For what? This government for the people by the people is turning to a factory where they change the good functional parts with parts that will destroy the well being of the good working machine. Yes, it is a band aid, but why keep putting band aids on parts that may never be the machine that was once was? We should be governed by those who find solutions to problems and not make more problems for the solutions we need!

I am old enough to understand that this what politics are all about, but damn! People future are at stake here and they say they care, but the politician sole purpose is to please their donors and not the public voters that voted them in to office. I am still proud to an American, but there are a lot days I just wonder why?

A man who should have never been put in charge our country, has in one years time destroyed our faith in our government and our everyday well being! For what, I asked again? He own gain is what! He has the leadership of a 10 year old(not intended to insult 10 year olds) and acts as if he has the answers to everything. And there are those who go out of their way to please his every ????(insert your own words here), to boast his ego arrogant personality that will destroy our country.

We are seeing a change that is not going to be food for the future of this country. There is only can that we should be kicking the road and that Trump and band of corrupt cronies out of office!

However -- just talked to a relative who is withholding any future donations to Dems due to this.

I wait until closer to an election and pick and choose for my money. She is a regular donor to selected candidates, as well as to DNC.

I remain disappointed. The "optics" are not good so far as to portraying Dems as "losers" etc.

Possibly the best we could do as a minority, but not good enough for diehards.

They played us by crashing CHIPS and then DACA (albeit delayed until March) and then counting on the fact that Dems care about kids and they do not, except as bargaining tools.

10. I agree with the other poster. This was a tactical decision by Schumer, who knows his tactics.

CHIP is now off the table, so the GOP can't hold those children hostage anymore. And in 3 weeks, the Dreamers will be front and center.

11. We may lose DACA because we don't have the votes...and that is not Schumer's fault.

The voters didn't turn out in 16 for us. elections have consequences...some (even some who call themselves progressive) put in Trump while opining the parties are the same...You elect the GOP...you get misery. We have been luckier than we probably deserve. So I don't know what will happen. We may not have a chance at DACA in an election year or the GOP may want to get something so as to avoid the horrible press they will receive once deportation begins. But remember Trump did this. And if he doesn't want DACA, we won't get it. And it is not the Democrats fault.
