I pledge to go to jail.

None of us truly knows for sure how we'll react if we ever find ourselves in one of those "put up or shut up" moments involving what we claim to be our principles. That said, if I am ever on a bus, train, plane or, for that matter, a sidewalk in this United States and armed police demand to see my "papers", my "proof of citizenship, I will refuse. I will have my driver's license, a couple other photo IDs, voter registration, etc. in my wallet, but I will not voluntarily display them. If I am told to furnish proof of citizenship or face arrest I intend to tell them to arrest me and HOPE I can resist the urge to tell them to kiss my ass.

May Trump and his fascist bastards rot in hell.

Keep a low profile and let's be the heroes like those who hid the Jews in another time when evil was triumphant.

I tend to be pretty cautious around cops. I don't let the fact that I'm a middle-aged white guy allow me to feel indemnified against police misconduct.

But if any of them pull a 'papers, please' with me or anyone else in my presence, they're going to get an earful of the Bill of Rights.

I have to go through Border Patrol stops. There are dogs, apparently to smell
if you are "illegal". But it's for drugs. I hate it. If I want to go to a concert in
Tucson, I can't take a doobie with me. They have x-ray machines that can
look inside your vehicle. It's un-American to me.

Proof of citizenship? How many of us ever carry that in our normal everyday life?

Hope to refuse to let anyone be taken if I don't go too.

Pitch a fit, "I don't have any damn papers!" Make a fuss and force their hand.
