Megyn Kelly Sets Up a Rogue Fox News State at NBC. First Victim: Jane Fonda

Megyn Kelly Sets Up a Rogue Fox News State at NBC. First Victim: Jane Fonda
Megyn Kelly’s astonishing on-air attack on Jane Fonda shows the spirit of her antagonistic Fox News persona is still alive and well. How far will NBC allow her to indulge it?
Tim Teeman 01.24.18 4:43 AM ET

In her attack on Fonda, resulting from their uncomfortable on-screen encounter a few months back when Fonda declined to discuss her plastic surgery, the old Megyn Kelly, the Fox News Megyn Kelly, was suddenly back. The problem is, she sounds nothing like the rest of the Today show, and what the hell does NBC do about that?

Does it let Kelly carry on, operating as a rogue mean-girl state, or does it try to get her back to the new, warm, happy Kelly she sold us at the beginning of her time at NBC?

On Monday, taking vicious aim at Fonda, Kelly was spitting venom within the confines of a network and franchise that prizes “family” and smiles and easy laughter about viral videos (at 8:10 a.m.), exercise routines and easy casseroles above settling acrimonious scores.

It seems so long ago that Kelly was promising, on the first edition of Megyn Kelly Today last September, that she was “done with politics.”

I think NBC execs are flailingly incompetent.

Megan Kelly's attack on Jane Fonda, which included showing unflattering photos of Fonda, was classic bullying.

Megyn Kelly hides behind her pretty looks, but she is ugly on the inside. Being a conservative does not make someone an indecent person. Being a mean nasty bully who trades in stereotypes, tropes, and racism is what makes someone an indecent person.

We know that despite MSNBC smashing Fox, the execs are unhappy, even though MSNBC is centrist at best.

Megyn Kelly is an attempt to lean the network right.

As far as Ms. Kelly, as much as she might want to drape herself in the metoo banner, the fact is, she galdy carried the banner of Fox, even though she personally know that the right was guilty of the very things she denied. She only left when she thought she could "settle for more."

she feels toxic; and if not feeling toxic, she's just stupid.

Granted, much of the Today morning show is filled with silliness and superficiality, as is proper for a morning show, but the anchors know how to get serious when needed and they tend to do pretty good jobs.

Kelly is just a vapid moron who thinks way too highly of herself. She's still less vapid than anyone else on FOX, or Limbaugh or Hannity, but ... I refuse to trust her. Never have, even after she moved to NBC.

Hope this is a sign she's a goner, or how about a re-think on that millions in salary. I never watched Today when LAUER was there, have been peeking now with Hoda, but I can't click away fast enough before or when her Faux face appears.
