Obama presided over the Jan. 21 wedding of Dana Remus, a former lawyer for his administration, and Brett Holmgren, who served as a special assistant to the president and on the National Security Council as senior director for intelligence program.
"We had decided to invite him because he was such an important part of our lives, we asked him if he could attend the wedding, and as we discussed it, he was intrigued with the idea of officiating a wedding," Holmgren told the magazine.
Obama reportedly earned a temporary officiant's license through the city government and signed the couple's wedding certificate.

(679 posts)When asked if Obama will attend, Harry's answer was a little cagey. I was wondering if Obama might actually have a ROLE in the Royal Wedding.

(11,563 posts)I can hardly conceive of a more amazing start to married life than to be sent off with the blessing of a GREAT President.
OK...in my case, I'd be happy with Justin Trudeau honouring us, but I hardly know him well enough to expect it.
