Ty Cobb walks back what Trump said about talking to Mueller: Trump speaking hurriedly, didn't intend

to say what he said.

Kyle Griffin tweet:

NY Times excerpt:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/24/us/politics/trump-mueller.html

Ty Cobb, the White House lawyer leading the response to the investigation, said Mr. Trump was speaking hurriedly and intended only to say that he was willing to meet. “He’s ready to meet with them, but he’ll be guided by the advice of his personal counsel,” Mr. Cobb said. He said the arrangements were being worked out between Mr. Mueller’s team and the president’s personal lawyers.

Look, What he says should not be taken as something he said. Just because the president said it does not mean that he necessarily said it. It's the media who twists his words around anyway. That's why fake news is a problem, and the president does not like problems like fake news. He's said so many times.

More like being the circus employee who follows the elephants in the parade, carrying a shovel and a garbage bag.

As soon as I read the headline somewhere else about him agreeing to speak under oath my first thought was "That won't last. He'll change his mind."

I didn't take time to think about all of his minions walking it back instead. Same outcome.
