The same type of tracking exists for cell phones. Nobody seems to care, though.

Having been in boot camp and living in a culture that emphasizes it, seems like a natural to me.

The whole point is to keep you active, which presumably soldiers already are. I suppose that there is a competitive element involved, though.

I have been a runner all my life, in addition to other athletic activities. I have never seen the need for a fit bit. I assumed the military keeps its soldiers in shape. The article says they’re worried about obesity. They’re doing something wrong imo.
