It has been a really long time since I read the books, but when I see Trump and what’s going on with society I think of the main character in the beginning. Something called a psycho-historian who could bring in all the trends and predict the future. I can’t help but think Trump is a symptom and if it wasn’t him it would be someone else.

2. Trump is The Mule

I always felt Trump was like that anomaly that Hari Seldon and his psychohistorians couldn't foresee, and who almost screwed everything up. The Mule had the ability to bend people to his will, much like Trump corrupts everyone he touches.

Plus, he's a goddammned freak.

he was called The Mule.

Unfortunately that was not the case here, but the comparison is apt.

It’s been forever for me too. Forgot the main guys name; Hari Seldon. I figured there were a few sci fi fans here.

On a different subject have any of you read of the first showing of the Star Trek pilot to all the sci fi writers? When it was over there was complete silence in the auditorium and Gene Roddenberry was almost crying no one reacted. It wasn’t till all the credits rolled that there was thunderous applause; the writers wanted to watch all the credits they were so impressed. Just read that not long ago.
