Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is planning to offer his own response to President Trump's first State of the Union speech Tuesday evening.
Sanders an independent who caucuses with Senate Democrats will deliver his speech via social media shortly after Trump's address, according to his office.
Sanders's office didn't hint at what the Vermont lawmaker will say. But he simultaneously blasted out a note to supporters from his campaign account knocking Trump and predicting what the president won't discuss during the prime-time address.

Last year, Kennedy, who's currently serving his third term in the House, garnered national attention during the health care debate when he delivered an emotional speech that went viral.
During a marathon committee markup on the Republicans' Affordable Care Act repeal and replace bill, Kennedy slammed House Speaker Paul Ryan, specifically taking issue with the fellow Catholic's interpretation of scripture and label for the the measure as an "act of mercy."
Kennedy denounced the proposal to repeal and replace Obamcare as an "act of malice."
He was born and raised near Boston with his twin brother, Matthew Kennedy.
He received his law degree from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. He also played lacrosse in college and served in the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic for two years.

(67,786 posts)Unlike Bernie, I see my job to push those younger than more to the fore. I see my job as support. I cofounded a company twenty five years ago this coming May. I continue to work in it as hard as I ever have. But my job is VERY different. It is promoting those who work for us. I work to groom them to own the company. I work to promote them in any way I can. I work to give them whatever benefit if my experience I am able.
I will have succeeded if THEY succeed. I am too old for it to be about me anymore. It is about them.
I guess I am different from Bernie.

(4,935 posts)fabulous to have that many voices giving rebuttals reaching out to so many people. The one's I know of so far are:
Joseph Kennedy - will be on all the channels right after Trump
Maxine Waters - on BET - joining Angela Ryes State of the Union. Only info I can find online is that she is joining BET programming at 10 PM Eastern. I see here that she is speaking after Kennedy - but can't find anything about that online so no idea what time that's scheduled. So I plan on tuning to BET at 10 . . . just in case people at DU are wrong.
Bernie Sanders - on Facebook [link:https://www.facebook.com/berniesanders/|
Former Maryland congresswoman and candidate in the Prince Georges County executive race, Donna F. Edwards will speak on behalf of the Working Families Party after Sanders. Still trying to find out how to watch this.
Virginia Del. Elizabeth Guzman will give the Democrats official Spanish-language response. It will air tonight following the presidents address on Univision, Telemundo, and CNN en Espanol.
As Donna Edwards said herself:
Many audiences, multiple platforms, reaching people no matter where they are. Same message, different voices, all calling out this President and his dangerous, destructive, and divisive agenda. More power to progressive voices mobilizing for the fight ahead.

From https://qz.com/1192720/trump-state-of-the-union-2018-how-to-watch-the-response-videos/
Kennedy's response will be immediately following Trump's speech, "Like the State of the Union, the official Democratic response will be broadcast on all the major US news networks, including ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, PBS, C-SPAN, Univision, Telemundo, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. You can also watch live online via Twitter, PBS, and C-SPAN."
Sanders tweeted that his response would start, on Youtube, at 10:45 pm Eastern. I think it may be on Facebook, as well.
Link to tweet
It looks like Waters is scheduled to respond at 10:00 pm on BET. Presumably, her response won't start until Trump finishes, although, she's said that she won't be watching Trump, so maybe not.
Edwards is scheduled to give her response at 11:00 pm Eastern, on Facebook.
On edit:
Quartz corrected their article, now saying, "Waters will deliver her rebuttal to Trumps State of the Union address on Angela Ryes State of the Union on BET on Wednesday, Jan 31 at 10 pm."
