Put me down for "Not Watching"
I don't have the stomach for it. I am 73 years old and always watched the SOTU address when I could. Sometimes work or other commitments wouldn't allow it. I could always get through the occasional phoniness on both sides and generally enjoy the proceedings.
Not this time. The thought of that despicable SOB standing there after all the harm he has done to this once great country is more than I can bear. And those on the left clapping politely and acting as though they like what they see, knowing full well he isn't done destroying everything in his path, makes it even worse. I wish they would walk out, or at the very least turn their backs when he speaks.
The follow up response from the party not in power is a waste of time, because all the focus is on the POTUS tonight. That's all the fawning media will cover, in this case Donald J. Trump.
So I'll find something else to do at nine o'clock, thank you, and wait and see what the pundits have to say tomorrow morning after the campaign rall...um...State of the Union speech is over and the floor is littered with Maalox bottles.
