Joe Kennedy III literally starts his speech talking about robots.

Think about this for a second folks. I know. I've been here 16 years. I'm a lot older and wiser. Those of you who were here from the beginning or near it, are also. We're looking at a dramatic shift in our society when it comes to automation. Civilized society is about to be tested at no level since the Revolution. We need politicians that can accept this absolute undeniable truth that is coming, very soon.

While Joe spent a lot of his time cutting at Trumps malicious hatred for immigrants, it has undertones of the coming fact of automation and AI. It's happening. We must address it. Our economy depends upon it. The entire planet depends upon it.

That’s my opinion. There are living beings with intelligence and analytical capability. They can be causative. Tools can be at the service of those beings l, whether a robot or an axe.

With the extreme wealth that exists in this country, there is no excuse for economic insecurity. We have to get over the American dream because it's a more Quixotic fantasy than possibility.
I'd really like to see a campaign that combines Joe Kennedy's talk with a call for economic security. Poverty is a function of capitalism. Since we have gone all in with it, we should make it easier to be poor.

If I can just hang on a bit longer, I can retire and not look back.
