During Monday’s contentious closed-door committee meeting, Rep. Mike Quigley, a Democrat, asked Nunes point-blank if his staffers had been talking with the White House as they compiled a four-page memo alleging FBI and Justice Department abuses over surveillance of President Trump’s allies in the Russia probe.

According to sources familiar with the exchange, Nunes made a few comments that didn’t answer the question before finally responding, “I’m not answering.”

Spokespeople for Nunes and for the White House did not immediately respond.

During a hearing, IIRC Adam Schiff asked Jeff Sessions if Trump had ever ordered him to do something illegal. Sessions said that he won't answer that question because he's not comfortable with it.

Fact or Fiction...depends upon the author....Why are we even concerned? This very well could be a creative hit piece without any substance or validation... Intent.... destructive harm .

I really wish that Adam Schiff had responded with "So in other words you are telling this committee - YES. Given that it is a simple yes or no question and you are testifying under oath, the only reason why you will not answer this question is that a no answer probably means you committed perjury under oath and a Yes answer means that you were asked to take part in an illegal activity. That sure appears to be the ultimate Star Trek no win scenario."
