I've been holding my breath because I expect Trump to make a move on Rosenstein. I suspect that is what this Nunes memo is all about.
This leak/new news about Trump's obstruction helps protect Rosenstein. I don't think this would be coming out now if he (Rosenstein) wasn't in danger of being fired.
Do you think this is enough to keep Trump from firing him?

Not much though. Mueller had better be loaded for Bandersnatch.

(52,116 posts)if donnie is satisfied with whatever response rosenstein gave, *that* will buy him more time to continue the investigation (if he isn't corrupted or intimidated, that is).
if donnie is not satisfied with the response, donnie will try to do something. what, exactly, remains to be seen, but something.
frankly, under the circumstances, i'm fine with rosenstein declaring his loyalty to donnie if he did so as a stall while the investigation continues. if that's what happened.

We are already in a constitutional crisis.
If Trump fires Rosenstein, it will be construed not as a just exercise of Trump's authority but as an obstruction of justice. And that may be how Trump is finally moved out of the White House.
Pence is a religious fanatic, but probably more likely to respect the limitations on the executive branch set forth in the Constitution.
The challenge for us Democrats is to clearly tell the American people who we are, what we stand for and why it is imperative that they vote for our candidates.
That's where our focus should be. What are our principles and values?
We did not make them clear enough in 2016. Because if we had, we would have won the presidential election in the key states.
(And while we are at it, but for the electoral college, Hillary would be in the White House. Let's amend the Constitution to get rid of the electoral college and let's require a paper trail in all elections.)
