What is the worst-case scenario that you see with the Russia investigation?

It's been a while since that question has been asked and a few more shoes have dropped.

What is the deal with Donald Trump? What is his plan?

As John Heilemann said earlier today, paraphrasing, "We know what...we just don't know why"...

Many people have had that gnawing feeling in their gut since Donald Trump was declared the next President of the United States. They did not know why but there was something about Donald Trump that troubled them immensely. There was a great uneasiness about him?

What is the worst-case with the new President? Is he an agent for Russia? Is he being black-mailed by Vladimir Putin? Is he just using the office of President for business purposes to make more deals? Has he been compromised (kompromat) by some sort of personal information that would be deeply embarrassing and humiliating?

Why is Donald putting our country thru these gyrations??

I have no evidence of that

Trump just seems too stupid and self-serving for much complicated intrigue. Money laundering, promised deals, etc - sure

It's the elected GOPers around him that seem more dangerous

Everyone investigating it are fired
The republicans shut down all investigations in the senate
The fbi is cleansed and everyone that opposes trump are fired.

Republicans keep working with russia to rig the elections.

trump has been trying to change the regime to russian style oligarchy. Putin is instrumental in achieving this goal. When all said and done, trump may become the richest person in the world. Same techniques used by the russians are surprisingly effective here (disinformation, targeted funding of fringe groups, etc.)

GOP is absolutely on board with this because they are realising that with changing demographics it will be increasingly more difficult for them to win elections. If trump could get elected president then anything is possible and the deconstruction of administrative state and functioning judicial system is not that difficult.

IMHO. trump's not going to agree to interview with Mueller. If he is subpoenaed, he'll ignore it. If he's held in contempt, he'll ignore it. Will it cause a crisis? Yes. Does he care? Hell no. All, and I mean all, he cares about is DJT. And the Reps. won't hold him accountable.

Why won't he be interviewed/questioned. If he tells the truth, he'll prove his guilt. If he lies, facts will prove him to be a perjurer.

I know it's imperative that SOMEHOW we not live with Trump in the WH for 4 years, and I'd feel optimistic about the Dems gaining at least the House except -- RUSSIANS and Russian election meddling as if the GOP didn't have enough tools of its own to thwart the REAL will of the people.

I feel -- strongly -- that right now, these last several days -- Trump is positioning himself for MAJOR power plays. Major. He's noticed that the more he piles on with his atrocities, the less able we all are to stop him, the more overwhelmed we become, the more successful he is.

He just defied the entire Congress by refusing to implement Russian sanctions and ignoring the requirement to build a new oligarch's list. Nothing's going to happen, which isn't all that tacit a permission slip to do more, go farther.

He found an alternative way to undermine the Mueller investigation -- and is apparently having more success with that than he should since the Republicans in Congress won't stand up to him and tell him to stop.

He seems intent on making ALL the part of the Executive Branch his personal playthings and again, no one will explain to him that that's not the way our government works.

I see this as a VERY dangerous time. Very. I'm more concerned than I have ever been and see not enough potential for fixing things. Mueller alone won't be able to do it.

There are 2 things we MUST fix if we survive this:

1. Enshrine in law all those time-honored traditions and norms that Trump thumbs his nose at daily and
2. De-overturn every damn thing Obama got done that Trump is overturning.

There's another thing I'd like to see: Some way to exert more pressure on our elected officials IN BETWEEN elections. They're not paying attention to us. They're ignoring us, thumbing THEIR noses at us, while all of us are getting utterly exhausted trying to make ourselves heard. Or at least I am.

Our system of elections was set up at a time when it took WEEKS for those who had to go to Washington to participate in the offices to which they'd been elected to get there, and Pony Express was the fastest way to get news.

But now things happen and news breaks at lightning speed, and we need something that will make these people more RESPONSIVE between elections. We're still stuck with Pony Express time frames.

Not sure what that would be, but what we've got is increasingly intolerable to me. Maybe open up the recall process or something. Maybe have formal (voter-driven) "report cards" and if they fall below a certain level a recall election becomes automatic (I like this one!). SOMETHING to make them more responsive. That goes for our Democrats too. Sometimes they don't listen so good either.

45 is compromised by Putin most likely via Russian mob money that 45 laundered for putin and the Russian mob. And several congressional republicans are compromised as well, by having taken contributions from a PAC that accepted Russian mob money. Thus the fear by 45 and congressional republicans and their desperation to discredit Mueller and the FBI. Fortunately, all will be revealed soon, as it’s much too late for the conspirators to successfully reverse the findings of Mueller’s investigation. When the story of this dismal period of our history is written, Mueller and his A-Team will be recognized as heroes of our Nation.
