But brutal and fierce are what it may take to change the landscape of this country! Hope things are well in Europe today!

I would say stupid ones like the unnecessary Brexit, thanks to the arsonists RWers...the Catalonia crisis. We could avoid them and focus and how to improve EU.

But, all in once, at least people have a decent health-care cover, an easier access to education and strict gun control. All things you could have too with people of good will.

I really don't understand the GOP and their more than outdated death vision of the world.

Well, it is not too late, you still have many good things. And as it looks, a very great blue wave is coming

Cults like the Christian rapture believers, who want to usher in Armageddon ASAP; the gun nuts, who see themselves as heroes going out in a hail of bullets to 'save' 'their country'; uber-capitalists who want everyone to compete to the death to get to the top of the economic heap; individualists who think that such things as universal health care or rent control make other people weak, so those benefits shouldn't be part of a free country; marginalized white boys and men who are angry at their marginalization and are easily propagandized into blaming any scapegoat(s) rather than than the real manipulators of this society.

You may note that many of the people who think this way don't blink an eye when they take benefits for themselves -- it's only those slacker others who should be thrown out on the street. Rank hypocrisy is another problem in the US.

You sum it up perfectly.

It is what I mean by "outdated death vision"

History being what it is, the way the world have been ruled makes sense. One reason among others, is the state of knowledge.

We do know so much more now days, even if what we know is still far less than we still ignore.

But it is enough to make progress towards a peaceful world. All in all, we are humans living on earth. We share the same basic needs, we more or less the same way for many things,...
We have different cultures, different views but it is not a problem. To the contrary, it is what enrich us. We must preserve each culture, each language with all their subtleties.

Borderlines, countries are artificial builds. I prefer to think of regions, each with its specificity.

We really can make the world wonderful if we stop thinking in terms of power, if we share fairly resources, if we place humans at the center. It is really possible to have basic rules applied everywhere, to meet the needs in term of health, security, education, safety. To make these fields non-profit-making. There will be enough left to trade. Aside these basic and universal rules, it's possible to have specific ones because of history, culture,...

And stop that madness arms race, spreading fear and so on. Imagine what would be possible in terms of progress if the insane amount of money dedicated to harm each other were redistributed to education, research, well-being...

The GOP and all around the world who share the same vision are pretty much stupid !

Because the get a real power, a strong one, is not to reduce people in slavery but to make them happy and satisfied in their lives. I always have in mind this quote from Alexis de Toqueville : "you will not make a revolution with people whose belly is full..."

It look cynical but in fact, it is not. Power means to me to be able to act in the aim benefit everyone. Otherwise, and so is the GOP et al vision, it is weakness.

I hope I didn't go for a word salad and what I have tried to express makes a bit sense.

It is not very easy to express complex thoughts in a foreign language.
