...they are very strong and not here for any BS.
I'm going to respect their privacy and not post any, but students have planned a protest in D.C., March 24, and we should support these strong people any way we're able.
That's how they spent the weekend, planning a campaign to demand gun control. Trump went to a party.
These determined young people are going to be a force in the future that will not yield to petty politics, political gamesmanship. We'd better be, or become, the nation they deserve.

(16,254 posts)and the children are paying for it. That's all most of them have witnessed in their short lives and that's tragic. They now want to speak out and we need to listen.
They won't shame Trump into action because he would never acknowledge he is wrong. Congress is breathing a sigh of relief by being on break and hoping the fury settles down before they return to DC...cowards that they are. We, basically, have no one but ourselves to depend on. The effect of marches only last as long as the 6:00 news. Petitions are a waste of paper. Calling your congresscritter only harasses the office staff.
We've pretty much taken away the innocence from childhood, so it's about time we all stop the fighting and get serious. When the children are the adults in the room, we're in a whole ton of shame. For my part, I'm going to be finding out if I can do that. I will be vacationing with part of the family that is Republican. Thus, no TV, no nasty conversation, no venting. I'm nervous about it, but I'm going to give it a try. Maybe if we all step back, take a deep breath and try to resolve our inner anger, we can learn to tolerate each other and change things for the better. We can't depend on leadership because we have none, so it will be on each of us to mellow out and see if that makes a difference.
Or, not....
