Anyone Remember Karen Klein, the Bus Monitor?

Well, the fundraiser ended, and she's going to be paid, it seems, or maybe already has been.

More than $700K donated to bullied New York grandma

A fundraising drive for a bus monitor bullied by middle-school students closed late on Friday (July 20) with a whopping $703,873 raised for the New York grandmother.

Donations for 68-year-old Karen Klein of Greece, New York, broke records for the fundraising website Indiegogo.com after a 10-minute cellphone video of the incident topped 8.3 million views on YouTube.

I was a little bit worried.

Normally, if I give you money (don't hold your breath) it's considered a gift and is NOT taxable income. I assume that would be the case here.
