"On Monday, the ANSWER Coalition was highlighted in the mass media for our role supporting the protests in response to the outrageous police attack in Anaheim. ANSWER placards and signs were highly visible in media photos and video. ANSWER volunteers were interviewed by mainstream media outlets.
That night, the ANSWER office in Los Angeles was broken into, ransacked and robbed. All of our computers, ten total, were stolen, in addition to all of our sound equipment and our bullhorns the things essential to organizing and conducting protest actions. We had many other losses too and our files were ransacked . . . . "

I would not put it past rogue officers in the LAPD to have done this to support their murderous pig brothers in Anaheim. But hey, who knows?

(14,180 posts)is one coincidence that stinks to high heaven, imo.
I parted ways with ANSWER over strategy but give them massive props for organizational prowess.

(62,325 posts)So the question is, 'who would have an interest in suppressing exposure of police brutality in Annaheim'? That should narrow the field of suspects.
We know that protests are infiltrated, a despicable policy imo btw which needs to end. There has been enough documentation just from the OWS protests of infiltrators that it's really not in doubt. But what do they hope to gain from this strategy? And who in a democracy would do this, rather than address the issues raised by protesters?
Attempting to suppress the voice of the people, even if they are sometimes wrong, is certainly not something that is in line with the US Constitution and maybe it's time to make this a big issue and get it out from the shadows and let them explain the purpose of viewing the people as the 'enemy' who need to be spied on.

(14,180 posts)find it mighty suspicious that their offices are broken into and trashed the same night they are on local television newscasts denouncing police vigilantism.
And maybe it wasn't the LAPD (although ANSWER's offices are in LAPD's jurisdiction). Maybe it was LA County Sheriff's Dept., which is facing some nasty allegations of its own conduct running the jail.

(62,325 posts)motive. That's not to say they actually did do it, but we are free to make our own list of suspects and they definitely would be on my list in this case. But maybe they can find out who actually did it? And maybe, just as a precaution, ANSWER might want to hire their own private investigators, to help preserve any evidence that might accidentally be destroyed?

Whenever I go out the door I check for terrorists in blue uniforms with guns. That is just being aware of your surroundings.
