Trump Urges Sessions to Investigate Obamas Handling of Russia Meddling

The president suggested in a tweet that he wants his Justice Department to probe the Obama administration’s handling of Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.

“Question: If all of the Russian meddling took place during the Obama Administration, right up to January 20th, why aren’t they the subject of the investigation?” Trump tweeted Wednesday. “Why didn’t Obama do something about the meddling? Why aren’t Dem crimes under investigation? Ask Jeff Sessions!”

The assertion came a day after he tweeted that he was “much tougher” than former President Barack Obama in pushing back on Russian aggression, and after special counsel Robert Mueller handed down a pair of indictments on Friday and Tuesday as part of his investigation into Russia’s activity with regard to the campaign.
