The orange White House hemorrhoid needed a slip of paper at his listening presser today that contained canned things to say to the surviving victims and parents of murdered children. He had numerous parents and students from the Parland massacre in to express their grief and anger at congressional and presidential inaction on gun issues.
Apparently his yuge brain doesnt contain the human emotion known as empathy. Then again what do you expect from a narcissistic sociopathic nillist.

(115,674 posts)Most normal people could easily ad-lib statements of comfort and empathy. Obama didn't need crib notes. In fact, I can't think of any president during my lifetime (I was born during the Truman administration) who needed prompting in order to seem sympathetic.

(60,010 posts)As you say, this is a clear incidence of him being unable to understand how others feel.
That's why he sounds so tone deaf when he talks inappropriately.

(9,006 posts)I was struck how his expression never seemed to change. Always the frowning stare. No wincing, no smiling, no tears, sometimes a frown with crossed arms. I'm gonna state the obvious: this guy should not be in the White House.

(9,006 posts)He had to have a note to tell him to say this.
Rachel Maddow is suggesting that while they are "trying to" show some "empathy" towards the gun issue, they are cutting funds for background checks, removing mental health issues from their records system?
If true, that's cold-blooded in a different flavor.
As she says, watch what they do, don't only trust what they say.

We know Trump isn't particularly discerning about who he has sex with.

(42,770 posts)30 years. I only now have very vague memories of when he was normal. By the way you said "my sister had" makes me think she's gone. So sorry.
I watched some of it...thought it very weird that after everyone gave their ideas - Trump then asked them for their ideas. don't know if it's memory issues OR extreme attention deficit. If you read Wolff's book - they say he can't listen very long. A general was showing him a graphic about the war in Afghanistan and he said "boring" and don't ever set up a meeting with the man again. He even wanted him fired - but changed his mind.
