Thinking back about my schoolteachers...

The only ones I remember who would have agreed to carry a gun at school are the ones I would never trust with a gun. The sadistic coach who openly bullied non-athletes. The angry history teacher whose resting face was a scowl. Some others like those.

Although they were heavily armed with scissors and crucifixes, I’m having trouble seeing any of them as Dirty Harry.

I have a lot of respect for teachers. I know that I lack the patience required and admire those who do.

Looking back on my teachers through the years, most wouldn't have carried a weapon if ordered. Those that would have, had no business doing so.

pencil stuck in his ear and set the lab on fire. Could you image what he would have done with a gun? An AR-15?

All of my other teachers wouldn't have picked up a gun if you paid them triple.

I had a teacher who would walk up behind kids who leaned back in their chairs and kick the chairs out from under them. Another teacher literally knocked a boy around because he thought the kid threw his book on the floor, which he did not. Some of my teachers scared me, those would have been the ones to want to be a part of this.

They could barely figure out how to work the overhead projector.

Don't get me wrong, I remember them as being sweet and caring, and I have fond memories of them. But arming them with a gun and expecting them to protect a classroom of kids is ludicrous.
