Ban weapons of war
Then regulate the shit out of handguns and hunting rifles.

2. I support the 2nd amendment...as a strict interpretation
You or I or any American is entitled by right to own as many 18th century firearms as we want....muskets and single shot pistols that take about 1 minute to reload and fire a second time.
Anything with a greater rate of fire or higher caliber of bullet is illegal. Don't like it? Move out now and take your guns with you...if you can find another country on Earth to allow you to keep them. |

4. Yep.
Register all firearms like cars, and pay a fee on each one every year. Gun sales require registration change.
Require two supporting signatures vouching for the responsibility of gun purchasers at point of sale. Mandatory gun safety class to obtain and maintain a gun license every five years. You don't pass or skip it, you don't have a license and can't own a gun (and therefore can't legally purchase new guns or renew registrations on existing guns). I hold no illusions that all of these would pass, but considering any one would be a step forward. |
