They showed a compilation of ads in which hateful provocateur Dana Loesch incites division and hatred against the left, the media, Democrats and anyone who does not support Trump.
They have also been extremely critical of her attempt to stigmatize ALL people with a mental health diagnosis. It is not helpful to use descriptions like "CRAZY" if the goal is to get people into treatment.

(82,849 posts)We all have to wait until Dana Loesch and rural conservatives are ready to do something, because they have to lead the way, and we have to be patient with them, and respect their views and their culture. I suppose Brooks would have mentioned "quit bleeding so loudly" if he'd had a little more space in his asinine column.
For me? I decided after one of the massacres (and I don't remember exactly which one it was - Umpqua Community College, maybe?) that I wasn't going to listen to people like Loesch anymore. They just want to see more death, because that's how they make their living. They are disqualified in my mind from further participation on this issue.

(10,437 posts)NRA is vulnerable on so many issues but we don't attack it nationally in any effective way...
where are the ads that show's NRA's support and push for copkiller bullets to be sold to the general public?
where are the ads that show's NRA's support to unfettered access to all weapons, including machine guns?
where are the ads that show's NRA's support to sell any weapon to a 10yr kid?
why are the democratic/liberal group's giving the NRA such a free pass? All 3 of those positions can be hammered into the american voter minds with simple 30 second spots.
The NRA is nothing more than a merchant of death and its time for democrats to quit pussy-footing around with them..

(9,895 posts)Use her words and script and message, but play it over a montage of destroyed children's bodies, show the devastation of their wounds and the violence that ended their lives.
America is a junkie. It is addicted to guns and afraid to move beyond it. It rationalizes everything through distorted prisms of "self-defense" and "2nd amendment rights" and "from my cold dead hands".
Face what it means to allow gunmen to wield an AR-15 and spray high caliber rounds through innocent kids, some no more than babies still.
I am sick of Dana Loesch and her ilk. Associate her words, her call to violence and confrontation with the reality of what that ends up in...stick her voice and face on the images of the true horror that she represents and wants to protect and maintain. Turn her very essence into something horrifying and disgusting to polite society. Then film the sequels on her responses until she goes away forever.
America needs an intervention and interventions are not timid or pulling punches to save one's feelings....to do it right, America must be forced to watch, witness and see the consequences of military ammunition on civilians. Show it on the news, play the footage as on-screen footage every time someone starts blathering on about the 2nd amendment rights (and remedies). Associate the gun and death cult with the images of the fruit of their labor...
And if they don't like it? Too bad. You lay with dogs, you get up with fleas.
Stellar
(5,644 posts)Why don't they do more advertisements of other nations with a gun fedish and less death than the USA. I think that would get more positive attention.

(10,828 posts)press its own agenda regarding gun regulation. Dana Leosch and her NRA backers would have us believe that unfettered gun sales represent the majority of American citizens. That is as false as these NRA videos.
After Sandy Hook, 90% of Americans wanted Congress to implement sensible gun regulation. Nothing happened. After the current massacre, 68% of the public is calling for moderate gun regulation. It remains to be seen if anything happens. Marco Rubio had the gall to say money was not the guiding principle in the gun question. Rather, he said, it was the millions of American citizens who support guns. However, there are millions more who are demanding Congress to get off its ass and do what should have been done years ago--get military grade weapons off our streets and out of our schools. That includes 75% of gun owners.
This whole thing is another Big Lie perpetuated by the Republican Party. They have fetishized guns in the same way they have fetishized the unborn.
It needs to stop. Now. And Dana Leash needs to find a different revenue stream.

According to this spew we must harden our schools like a military fort to ensure our children's safety.
It's sheer, utter craziness.

I will never understand how someone can watch those ads and not find them obvious threats of violence and not be repelled by the creepy-as-hell rage in her eyes and in her voice (were coming for you And shes screaming that high school kids threatened HER?
