Symantec, one of the countrys largest security software companies, has ended its partnership with the National Rifle Association, Gizmodo has learned.
The company is the latest to sever ties with the NRA following a backlash stemming from the last weeks school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in which 14 students and three staff members were killed.
Symantec had previously offered a variety of discounts to NRA members who purchased its Norton antivirus software. On Thursday, First National Bank and Enterprise Holdings, which operates three major car rental services, likewise cut ties with the gun advocacy group.
LifeLock, the identity theft protection company acquired by Symantec last year, will likewise no longer be offering discounts to NRA members.

(7,521 posts)It is bloat-ware, but it's probably a good solution for a workplace with employees who may not be cybersecurity aware and computers you don't want to micromanage the way one would their own personal computer.

(17,337 posts)Thought that was the first question on the application.
'Are you a fearful, desperate kook?'
'Do you have fantasies involving you're being a 'good guy with a gun'?'
'Do you indulge fantasies about shooting the last zombie on Earth, after the zombie apocalypse?'
'Do you show your gun off to every stranger you see, even kids at your door selling school raffle tickets?'

(17,337 posts)Include a question about whether the applicant takes Cialis, Viagra, or Levitra.
And another question about how many guns they have.
How many they want to have.
Whether land mines, torpedoes, mini-guns, and rail guns should be legal.
Should mustard gas be legal for home defense?
