I remember an old post about armed teachers in schools

It was a few years ago. The discussion was about RW arguments that Obama was a dictator.

One poster had experience growing up in a country that was in fact a military dictatorship. The poster was pointing out that we were far from living in a dictatorship by presenting his own experiences. For example, it was common to see people dragged into cars screaming they were being kidnapped while bystanders refused to look.

One point I remember was the poster stating that all teachers carried guns.

This was part of the general intimidation of the population under a military dictatorship - that normally helpful government employees were willing to use deadly force to uphold the authority of the state.

I think of this post when I hear arguments for arming teachers.
