(16,850 posts)Im not sure I would have ever given a second thought to a friend who pined so hard for my wife that he wrote the greatest rock song of all time about her and then ultimately got her! George loved Eric like a brother, which is why when Eric was at his lowest from drug addiction, George was there and got him help that he needed. Harrison is a musical treasure.

(7,349 posts)The Showtime documentary about Eric Clapton goes in depth into their friendship and also how Pattie Boyd figured into that equation. I highly recommend it!
Back to George tho.....RIP playing with some phenomenal musicians in the afterlife!

(16,850 posts)The musicians gather on the stage that night are truly incredible and it does speak to Georges influence!
I hope I can catch him playing in the afterlife!
(As an aside, I dont think any single woman has had more hit songs written about her than Pattie Boyd...)
Heartstrings
(7,349 posts)songs written about her, Jennifer Juniper by Donovan the only one I can think of off the top of my head, however she knew quite a few well known musicians intimately. Oh, those Boyd sisters!

(16,850 posts)Heres him performing with Jeff Lynn, who I refer to as the sixth Beatle because damn he sounds so close to their sound! If you listen close to Dhanis vocals he sounds remarkably like his father:
Heres Dhani with his band singing his fathers part on End of the Line from The Traveling Wilburys
And Dhani solo:
Not gonna lie, love his music...but I love that hes about my height as well!

(296,886 posts)Ringo and Paul in the audience.. Dhani' voice is quite moving.. so much emotion.. blast from the past!
The Drummer(was he wearing an eye patch?).. and the Blond are really good, too!.. and of course Jeff Lynne!
"Sometimes ya gotta be Strong!.." I like those Traveling Wilburys Who's the guy to Dhani's right with the beard? He has a lot of spark.. as do they all.
Dhani's only 39.. a youngster! August 1, 1978

Lyrics~
[Verse 1: Dhani Harrison]
I know all there is to know about waiting
Never mind the quintessential question
We will carry you to slack and leave
Like a guide that's broken captive from mystery
[Verse 2: Dhani Harrison]
So much to remember when your day end
So much to forget when you're afraid
After all the troubles and the [?]
I know all there is to know about waiting, waiting
Waiting, waiting
[Chorus: Dhani Harrison]
It's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be, it's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be, it's not like you used to be
[Verse 3: Dhani Harrison]
It's just [?] you cannot that recall
Future's not a, may not be at all
You surround it may as well, embrace it
Revolution, evolution, patience
[Verse 4: Dhani Harrison]
Even though you're present in the moment
Doesn't mean that you're not sad and lonely
Can you hear the sound of revelations
I know all there is to know about waiting, waiting
Waiting, waiting
Chorus: Dhani Harrison]
It's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be, it's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be, it's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be, it's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be
It's not like you used to be, it's not like you used to be
