They just make shit up.

Where do Republican lies come from?

They say Obama was born in Kenya. No proof, but they spread it around anyway.

They say Obama raised taxes. In fact, he has cut taxes. But that doesn't keep the Republicans from spreading the lie like it was gospel.

They say he has gone around the world apologizing for America. But they cannot point out one time that it has happened.

They say he is against small businesses and they take his words out of context to prove it.

There is one thing that Republicans do well. Lie.

Talking with Repub moms way back when, the one thing I remember is they didn't like to hear negative news. They live in a bubble. That's why FoxNews took off the way it did, when it did.

We have a winner! The reason that Republicans WILL believe anything is because the WANT to believe it. In a sense, it's almost like Fox News isn't lying, per se, just telling them shit that they want to hear.

The people don't feel "as though" they're being lied to...

You're right, though. Lying sacks 'o crap. Every last one of them.

...like we were under George W Bush.

And they want us to balance the budget and be fiscally responsible.

And cutting taxes will bring in more money to the Treasury...etc.

and they say he is (simultaneously) a unrepentant "socialist" AND a "crony capitalist". Oh, and a radical anti-American Muslim who also has a radical (former) Christian pastor! The cognitive dissonance- and the effort it must take to maintain their sanity in the face thereof- must be staggering.
