Romney Right On Message In Europe - It Makes RW'ingers Happy.

As crazy as it sounds Romney insulting the Brits and Europe is not really a problem for him. The RW, the Kochs, and the rest of our oligarchs as well as the GOP hate Europe and everything European. It's their socialism and their governments. Republicans I know love Romney because he is attacking something they hate. And we know that the GOP does not care.

The GOP is glad to see Europe suffering and wants to see them pushed over a cliff because European socialism does not work in their eyes. A bad European economy or collapse will crash ours and they will win because they still believe that tax cuts for the "job creators" will lead to a booming economy. And the believe that taxes being raised on the 99% will balance the budget. And they believe ending the safety net will make balanced budgets a sure thing.

Right wingers love seeing the Brits being pissed off because the GOP base is now so super extreme right. The GOP hates Obama so much that if Romney said he would nuke Iran and Syria and send their children to a land war there, they would support him. Even if Romney were a proven pedophile Republicans would elect him they are that sick.

They are counting on the media, oligarchs, voter ID, diebold to deliver for them. Romney does not have to offer anything. All he has to do is keep pushing the racism, bigotry and hatred. The fact that Romney is NOT Obama is all many voters need.

Why do I say what I have just said. Well this election should not be even close for the GOP anywhere in the country. The fact that Romney shows up as close as he does in the polls really makes you wonder.

I have lost faith in the electorate at this point. After all we allowed Bush to be reappointed twice and we put the GOP in control of the House in 2010 and elected majorities in many states.

They want to see Europe pushed over a cliff because they know that European-style socialism *does* work, and they do not want the threat of a good example.

That is exactly right. European socialist worked for the WWII generation. And I do believe our banksters and oligarchs found a way to sabotage their economies on purpose. People forget that the Europeans bought a lot of our phony and worthless securities. Of course, our corrupt media has ignored that part of the story.

Even European banks were tied to ours in that the banks are multinational. If you look at the situation carefully, it is obvious that right wing policies are being pushed in earnest on most of Europe. I look at what is happening economically as all being tied together.

4. But it's alosing strategy because he doesn't win without getting the Independent votes.

I doubt very seriously that anyone who is really an Independent would be much impressed with Mitt's performance abroad.

Look, you don't have to love Europe to understand that this is really a question about judgment and competence. It's about having the sense to have people around him who know what they are doing. You just don't go over to another country as the presumptive Republican candidate for President and gratuitously piss people off.

Most Americans are looking at Mitt and saying "Geez, what's up with this guy? Can't he just keep his mouth shut about stupid shit?"

I don't think that's too much to ask...

...Democrats have succeed in making Romney run hard right? That's what everyone said he had to avoid, and Democrats have been trying to pin him down.

Eleven Dimension Chess: The President Got Mitt to Declare Himself Radioactive

I mean, Romney has been trying and needs desperately to appeal to moderate voters. If he's still trying to convince wingnuts, he has a problem. Appealing to moderate voters was the whole point of his Etch-A-Sketch strategy, which obviously failed.

Even Republicans are piling on: "Kind of like Mr. Bean, only he's an American"
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021027165

These arguments framing Mitt's severe screw up as a strategy is like claiming that Sarah Palin is a sure thing.

There are a lot of kooks in this country, but it would be a complete mistake to believe that appealing to them at the lowest level is going to play well among sane people.

Mitt's trip thus far is a complete disaster and embarrassment, and if he's playing to teabaggers at this point, it's out of desperation.

35% of Americans will vote for Romney no matter what he does or what happens.

There's no point in worrying about them.

7. I don't think the 0.1%ers care about the economy

I think that they only care that 1, they have as little money as possible taken from them and used for the common good, and 2, that regulations be removed so they can come up with new scams. That is the new model- scam your way to riches, then hoard them.

8. RW'ers don't care

Most RW'ers don't care what others in the world think of the US. Insulting them is okay. Bombing them is okay. Starving them is okay. Stealing from them is okay. The only thing they think about is "the US is the only place on the face of the Earth" and everywhere else is full of zombies. They don't even know where "becky-becky-stan-stan" is.

typically reacts to outside opinion - which basically - they don't give it any thought at all - I doubt that this will in itself hurt Romney. But it does throw him off message a bit and that's a good thing.

12. Dan Riehl, 2009: Be nice to the British, Obama; 2012: Fuck the British - well done, Romney!

Roy Edroso caught this:

Dan Riehl in 2009:

You may recall that on about his first day in office Obama returned a famous bust of Winston Churchill to Britain. That was seen as something of an insult to Britain by many. He gave the British Prime Minister tapes of his own hopey changey speeches, which many saw as egotistical but was also a statement of sorts, saying, you aren't really so special, sport. Perhaps it's the message in his speeches he actually wanted the PM to get?

In the video below you'll find that for Obama there was no bow to the Queen of England. His wife even broke protocol by reaching out to give her a pat at some point, as I recall...

This is a man who, unlike most Americans, doesn't view Western Civilization as all that.

Dan Riehl today:

Get over it, Britain. You're a second rate, semi-degenerate nation still on the way down because you went too far to the left too long ago for anyone to care about. Don't expect us to wring our hands over what you losers did. We're too busy fighting to make sure it doesn't happen here...

Mostly a bunch of feckless wankers if you ask me. Put a Gold Medal on that and aim it at the Queen's arse.

What a difference a Mitt Romney goodwill tour makes.
