Here's what I think after tonight:

All his life Trump has had power due to his money and ability to con people and make the sale. There was always more money, more expectations of profit, more reason to stay on Trump's side.

In politics, it is POLITICAL capital that matters. He was given a finite amount when he became President and he's been spending it like a drunken sailor ever since, burning bridges, coming up short, wasting resources. His cons and lies and bullying tactics aren't working in the political sphere, where you have to build alliances and trade loyalties.

And now it seems as if the people around him have finally opened their eyes and have seen that this guy is fast running out of his political capital, going bankrupt and--in politics--once it is gone, you simply don't get any more! He's going to have nothing and there is no reason to stay and be dragged down with him.

Hope Hicks jumped ship.

Sessions is mad as hell and is not going to take it any more!

Everyone wants to survive this shipwreck. They see it springing leaks and going down.

He has his fans, the ones who he can keep in his thrall. It isn't a conservative ideology they believe in, but just the expression of their discontent with the world.

But I'm talking about politicians. I'm sure what we see is only part of what's going on in Washington and the White House. It will all come out eventually.

They probably don't hold him in high esteem but they still kowtow to his whims.

Political capital is a renewable. If spent wisely, and how the citizens wish it to be spent, they will give you more.
This is, he's wasted it and what he did spend it on is bullshit scams. No more capital for you, fuckface.
