London mayor lampoons Romney: ‘YES WE CAN!’

London Mayor Boris Johnson is a true-blue Tory (Conservative), but Johnson delivered a withering put down of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a pre Olympic Games rally in the city’s famed Hyde Park.

“There are some people who are coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preparations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years,” said the Lord Mayor.

“I heard there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we read? Yes, we are.”

Boris Johnson then led a mass chant of the Barack Obama theme from 2008: “YES WE CAN.”
