This is a terrible signal to the world.

Econ 101: Trade barriers are bad. So I now pay more for goods with steel in them, I have less money to spend on other things that might support businesses in my community. The EU's response to this will mean our companies are less competitive and there will be layoffs. All for some very temporary gains for rich American steel barons. And Russia will benefit from this too, no doubt.

I blame the schools, basic economic theory is apparently no longer being taught. That I have to convince Conservatives that free trade is a good things for all sides involved is something I never thought I'd have to do. Crazy times.
