It takes only about 6" for an average car to get swept away. This is not only dangerous for the drivers but also for the rescuers.

Our whole coast line is under water. There are 30-35 foot waves just off the coastline.

Flooding is predicted here as well...not as severe. My beloved Cape Cod is drowning. I grew up there.

Thanks, orangecrush.

Memphis died yesterday when his car got washed off the road and in to a creek. But we get a lot of flooding here and most people know better.

which was a wise idea since I work down in one of the flooded parts of the city. I live near the river in the West End and fortunately there has been no flooding here yet. It worries me how easily this city gets flooded. I am terrified of the next hurricane.

Im sure we're still getting gusts upward of 50 mph

I had 2 largish pine trees down overnight in my yard.

Locally, there were retail signs, street signs and metal roofing blown around everywhere.

School bus blew over

Wind snapped off groups of telephone poles.

We had a lot of snow melt, rain and then wind - trees are loose and uprooting or just snapping off.

This is the kind of mess that might take all spring to clean up.
