Earlier this month, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny posted a video investigation that used the Instagram posts of a woman with the handle Nastya Rybka to build a corruption investigation involving one of Russia's wealthiest men and a powerful government official.
Rybka who is actually a Belarus-born woman named Anastasia Vashukevich works as an escort, which is how she wound up posting a video of her and others cavorting with Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska. Also seen in the video hanging out on Deripaska's yacht: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko, which Nalvany said showed the close link between oligarchs and the Russian government.
The video became a whole to-do in Russia, where Deripaska has sued Instagram and YouTube to remove Rybka's posts and Nalvany's investigation.
Rybka apparently took down most of the posts on her own but Instagram which is owned by Facebook took down the last two to comply with a Russian court order. (The YouTube videos are still up.) Meanwhile, things get tricky when it comes to Deripaska because he used to employ Paul Manafort, Trump's one-time campaign manager who is under investigation for money laundering. But we'll come back to him.

They are most likely going to make her vanish before she can tell her story.
Her arrest in Thailand coincided with the arrival of an ex FSB director there.

(13,530 posts)But how interesting. Thank you for posting.
The convoluted and intertwined connections with the Russians and the current holders of power in our government will at some time be known and these subjects will not only be true crime books but text books in the future about how the promise of democracy was usurped by the oligarchs, transnational corporations and our traditional and current enemy, the Russians.
That poor woman probably has had a bullet in the back of her head, courtesy of the FSB.
And at last report 2 member of Piussy Riot were missing.

Thai police have vowed to take legal action against a group of 10 Russians and Belarusians who were arrested this week for allegedly running a training course in Pattaya to improve customers' sexual techniques.
In a weird twist, one of the suspects posted on Instagram that she has new information to offer the authorities regarding the ongoing investigation in Washington into Russian interference in the 2016 US Presidential elections.
In other words she was arrested with a group and was going to be returned to Belarus and is trying to leverage that into a visa to the US.
As for Russian Mafia being in Pattaya at the same time, well that isn't a coincidence, Pattaya probably has a higher concentration of Russian Mafia than any Russian city as it has become the operation center of a lot of the Russian Mafia.
If she was such a high connected operator I doubt that she would have been caught up with the so called "sex guru" group that was working a very retail con, selling sex by offering courses on sexual techniques.

Vashukevich shot to fame in early February when Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, one of President Vladimir Putins top foes, published an investigation drawing on Vashukevichs social media posts suggesting corrupt links between billionaire Oleg Deripaska and a top Kremlin official, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko. The report featured video from Deripaskas yacht in 2016, when Vashukevich claims she was having an affair with him.
Russians have focused on the ties between Deripaska and Prikhodko. But now Vashukevich says so far without proof that she can link the Kremlin to Trump and his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, who worked for Deripaska a decade before Trump hired him. Manafort has been indicted on money-laundering charges in special counsel Robert Muellers investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election but Mueller has offered no evidence so far in his investigation that Manafort helped Russia in the U.S. election.
Vashukevichs links to Deripaska do offer a glimpse into some of the shady associations that surround many Russian oligarchs.
Even Navalny told the AP on Wednesday that he has certain doubts that Vashukevich has any evidence about alleged direct ties between Russia and the Trump campaign
Assertions that she was working with Navalny are absurd, we have Navalny's tape in Russian where he exposes her and he posts the original video of her on the yacht.

(19,391 posts)"Could a Russian Call Girl Be the Straw That Breaks This Joe Camel-Colored Presidents Back?"
"Navalny used Rybkas memoir Who Wants to Seduce a Billionaire?, her social media postings and geolocation techniques to show that she spent time in August 2016 on Deripaskas yacht off the coast of Norway. She had claimed in her book that the cruise was off the coast of Greenland.
Photos on her Instagram account, @natya_rybka.ru, showed her on the navy blue, teak-decked Elden with Deripaska. They also showed Deripaska there with Sergei Prikhodko, whos described on the Russian governments website as deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation."
"Also, instead of asking for help, shes offering to sell her story to whoever can get her out of prison. If it werent for this divisive administration and this backward-ass president, I would chalk up Rybkas missive as the desperate pleas of a Russian thot, but I hate this administration so much, I am tempted to start a GoFundMe account in her honor. Oh, and then there is this:
If we go back to Russia we will die in Russians prison or they will kill us, she wrote Tuesday on her Instagram account. Please USA help us not to die from Russians!
" Im ready to hear what else shes got to say, and even if its a lie, its an exciting lie, not like the ones this third-grade administration tells."

Then the egg starts being applied as the story builds. There is a better chance she is part of an under age sex smuggling business than her being the only one who can make the connection to Trump. But the poor little lady needs out of jail.

(611 posts)medical care to those in prison but allow them to have complete communication with the outside world, not to mention a cell phone charger? Sorry folks, this whole story does not pass the sniff test. Perhaps its an attempt to discredit the Mueller investigation by getting him to subpoena her.
She says she has info that could be damaging to Trump, but asks the US government to spring her out? If true, it would be in Trumps interest for her to stay where she is, or die.
This is an attempt to feed fake info for sure, and I just aint buying it.

I also understand that Thailand is now under rule of a dictator who overthrew a democratically elected government by coup.
"On April 7-8, Dmitry Medvedev became the first Russian prime minister to visit Thailand in 25 years. The Russian leaders visit to Bangkok was excessively publicized both to the benefit of Russia in expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, and to that of the military government of Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocho who took advantage of Medvedevs high profile visit to legitimize his regime.
While in Thailand, Medvedev signed a number of bilateral agreements with his Thai counterpart, for example, to combat drug trafficking, boost investment and develop Thai energy sector. The two countries were ambitious in their goal to double annual bilateral trade next year to $10 billion.
As reported by the Russian media, around 0.9 percent of ASEAN exports are services to Russia and 2.8 percent of Russian exports are services to ASEAN. Thailand is the leading ASEAN nation trading with Russia at $2.3 billion, leaving far behind Vietnam with $609 million and Singapore at $364 million. Thailand hopes Russia will buy its over-produced rubber. On top of this, it expects to attract more Russian tourists. In 2014, Thailand drew 1.6 million Russian tourists. But so far, the total number is down 8.6 percent this year.
What is more important than the strengthening of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Russia is the fact that Medvedevs trip to Bangkok came at the time when the Prayuth regime has been heavily criticized by certain Western governments and international organizations. They have condemned the Prayuth government for replacing martial law with sweeping security powers for the military, as an obstacle to the protection of the peoples rights."
