The Central Michigan University shooter was captured at around 1am
I had been checking the news, up until I finally fell asleep and he was still on the loose. I'm glad that he was taken into custody, and I was wrong about what I thought would be the outcome.
Captured: Police arrest Central Michigan University student accused of killing parents
MOUNT PLEASANT (WJRT) - (3/2/2018) – The suspect in a double homicide in a Central Michigan University dorm on Friday was captured just after midnight Saturday, leading to a big sigh of relief from the community.
Central Michigan University police confirmed the arrest of 19-year-old James Eric Davis Jr. just before 1 a.m.
Someone on a train passing through the north end of Mount Pleasant noticed Davis along the railroad tracks just after midnight. Police swarmed the area and arrested him without incident.
Police say Davis shot his parents to death on the fourth floor Campbell Hall in the Towers residence hall complex around 8:30 a.m. when they came to pick him up for spring break.
Davis fled on foot north from the Towers after the shooting along a set of railroad tracks near the west side of Central Michigan’s campus.
