sticks out. I'm sure he has done worse
many times over, but that one really got to me.

(6,376 posts)But I think probably the moment that may have hurt him the most was the "good people on both sides" comment after Charlottesville. The resistance was already growing, but that comment really seemed to be a catapult that kicked the Blue Wave into overdrive.

I said to him, 'Is that like the real one, or is that a copy? the Republican nominee said moments after taking the stage at a local high school.
Trump recounted the exchange, remarking that the man, who he identified as retired Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman said, "That's my real Purple Heart. I have such confidence in you."
"And I said, 'Man, thats like big stuff. I always wanted to get the Purple Heart," Trump said. "This was much easier.
