Just to let you know: Merkel's new coalition is now ready

SPD party members approved of a new coalition agreement for a SPD/CDU/CSU coalition in Germany. Merkel is the long-time CDU leader.

The SPD is polling very, very poorly right now after a failed "we're not available for another SPD/CDU/CSU coalition, please find another party to work with" maneuver. Turns out no other coalition was available, so the SPD started coalition talks and got rid of their former leader Schulz to install Andrea Nahles as the new party leader. Now a majority of 66% of SPD members agreed to the coalition agreement, so the Bundestag will soon re-elect Merkel, probably for the last time because it looks like Merkel is promoting possible successors to important positions, maybe Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (similar to Merkel) or right-winger Jens Spahn.

The SPD's future is not clear right now. They are polling at only ~18%, and the alt-right AfD party might soon take the SPD's 2nd place in the polls. I'm expecting a bumpy road and scary times.
