Scarborough Mocks Trump's Incompetence: 'The Man Can't Collude With a Ham Sandwich'

As special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s Russia ties continues to ensnarl various members of the president’s orbit, Scarborough discussed recent reports that Trump has reassured aides the probe with not get to him.

“Will the president not end up being ensnarled in this? I think that’s likely,” Scarborough opined on Monday morning. “I think they’ll get a lot of people around him,” Scarborough continued, explaining that someone “very close” to the president once asked him if he thought the investigation would prove Trump colluded with Russia, to which the MSNBC host replied: “I don’t think he has the attention span to conduct a full-blown conspiracy.”

Scarborough went on to compare Trump to Mr. Magoo, the character that the president now reportedly invokes to mock his Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“The man can’t collude with a ham sandwich right now,” Scarborough said.

“But he could collude by mistake,” co-host Mika Brzezinski contended.

“His attention span does not allow him to do that,” Scarborough replied.
