Theresa May drawing up full spectrum retaliation against Vladimir Putin for nerve agent attack

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5761287/theresa-may-revenge-putin-ex-russia-spy-attack/

Intelligence chiefs are just “a few days” away from establishing hard proof that poison plot was ordered by Moscow.

Senior Whitehall sources said Mrs May accepts she must then initiate a response to match the public uproar that will meet the revelation that another state was behind a chemical weapons attack on British soil.

It will include;

The immediate expulsion of senior Russian diplomats and spies, as well as potentially cancelling Kremlin-linked oligarch’s visas to London, plus asset freezes and travel bans.
A statement of joint international condemnation from Britain’s closest allies - France’s President Emmanuel Macron and German leader Angela Merkel.
In the longer term, boosting Britain’s military deployments in Eastern Europe with more jets and troops, as well as a pushing for a NATO-wide reinforcement at the alliance’s summit in July.
..................

Britain now calling this a chemical weapons attack on their soil.

If this was Trump, he'd just ignore it and probably give Putin a pat on the back....

This is kicking up all sorts of shit in the UK because its so brazen.

MI5 and MI6 were left startled by the audacity of the Russian president’s “wet job” order, which he knew would be swiftly traced back to Moscow because of the poison's complexity.

Under Russian law, foreign assassinations can only be authorised by the President himself.

A senior security source dubbed the nerve agent hit a “seriously balls in your face” move.

The source added: “Why have they done this? What is their next move?

“This is what we’re trying to work out now. Putin is without doubt a deluded individual, and that makes him dangerous.”

The US Govt better get fucking real as to what is happening, we have a Russian asset in the WH and a lunatic Russian President running rampant unchallenged.

Spy attack touted as 'act of war' leaves Britain with few options
Nick Miller
Published: March 9 2018 - 7:03AM

Leigh is no Russiaphobe. In 2014 he said Britain should “accommodate” Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine because the country was “part of the Russian soul”.

And in December he attacked Labour for “seeing reds under every bed”, dismissing claims that Russia was interfering in Western democracies as paranoia and the country was being used as an “excuse” for the failure of the liberal left.
-
So the fact that Leigh is now baying for Russian blood is a sign of the fury building in Westminster and Whitehall.

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson told the BBC the government was being “pushed around” by Russia and “we have to change the way we deal with it” – though he stopped short of blaming it for the Salisbury attack.

Tom Tugendhat, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, said: “The first duty of government is to protect the British people - I think using nerve agents on British streets really does demand a response.”

Tory MP Nigel Huddleston worried about the cruel nature of the crime "which could have resulted in considerably greater collateral damage" and demanded perpetrators be brought down by the "full force of the law".

But Whitehall officials are still very, very keen not to speculate on whether Russia was behind the attack, still less on what might happen if they were. They talk about a process: first comes the evidence, then a response will be considered.

European allies as has happened in the past. What is odd and of character for Putin is to be so brazen and do it right before Russian elections. The Russian TV has been admitting to the poisoning and threatening their citizens. Unbelievable.

For days, Russia's main national TV channels were practically silent on the attempt to kill former spy Sergei Skripal with a nerve agent, but this changed in Wednesday's main evening bulletins.

The comment by Kirill Kleimenov - the presenter on government-controlled Channel One's flagship Vremya news programme - sounded like a veiled, mocking threat to anyone considering becoming a double agent for Britain.

"I don't wish death on anyone, but for purely educational purposes, I have a warning for anyone who dreams of such a career," he said.

"The profession of a traitor is one of the most dangerous in the world," Kleimenov said, adding that few who had chosen it had lived to a ripe old age.

Russian spy: What we know so far

What else do we know about his family?
Mr Skripal's wife, elder brother and his son have died in the past two years - some in suspicious circumstances, the family believe.
His son, Alexander Skripal, died aged 43 last July in St Petersburg from liver failure.
Alexander Skripal is buried in Salisbury close to his mother, Liudmila Skripal, who died of cancer in 2012.
Mr Skripal's family deny that he worked for MI6, and believe that the espionage case was fabricated by Russia.

I hope all of our Intell Chiefs lend all of our resources to the British. I like GCHQ. They have done things for us we'll never know about.

Some reading this may have forgotten the Cold War and the number of US troops that were killed by Russian operatives.

Research Major Nicholson (sp) dates back to 1986. He was left to bleed out.

And now in a civil and polite society someone is poisoned.

Putin was a young man in the 80s.

SANCTIONS need to be tightened. 100% behind the NATO.

Putin displayed an animation of new Russian missile heading to Florida, where trump spends most of his time. No response, not even acknowledgment from ANYONE at the WH. And you KNOW trump knows about it.

Putin knew this attack on Britain (who WAS our ally before trump came along) is easily traceable to him. Poisoning people is his signature move. He got his wish of dividing the US and Europe. Now he's escalating.

But we live in a world where its most dangerous inhabitant has figured out he can fuck around and do literally anything he wants because any type of military confrontation likely ends in a big boom. The world’s second most dangerous inhabitant is the orange maggot who works for him.

I have few ideas on how to smack Russia and Putin around, I just know they need to be smacked around. Like yesterday. As someone else said above this post, they are a rogue state. And one with a nasty, sneaky and extremely hostile disposition when it comes to democracy.
